There are a few different Edmonton burst pipe repair methods that our expert plumbers may recommend for your home. These include:
- Pipelining and bursting: If your underground water line bursts, we’ll need to replace the entire thing. We usually suggest getting a sewer inspection at this time as well, as although these two methods are trenchless, they still require digging a hole, as seen in the image below. It’s more cost-effective for our customers to get both sewer and water line replacements done at the same time if needed. To do this, we’ll use a directional drill to either pull a flexible sleeve into the existing pipe, or we’ll use hydraulics to pull a new one through the old one while breaking up the old pipe as we go.
- Pipe replacement: Broken pipes inside of your home can typically be repaired rather than replaced. Our repair methods will vary depending on the material your pipes are made from. If your line is made of copper, we often use the ProPress technique to attach a new segment of copper pipe to the existing pipe. Lines made out of PEX or Poly-B can be repaired using a connector called a ‘crimp.’ Other line materials may need total replacement services such as the sewer line replacement service being completed in the image below.
