Inspection and Diagnosis
You may already be convinced you know what’s causing your slow drainage pipes to back up, but for the most part, this may only be a miscalculated guess. The core problem is hidden away in your pipes beyond your reach and can be a layered issue with multiple things piling up slowly over time.
The first step in solving the problem is pinpointing exactly what is causing the blockage and where the issue is located. Video camera inspection is one method we use for inspection and diagnosis for an appointment during drain cleaning. Victoria plumbing professionals insert a small video camera with an LED light and flexible cable into the water drain pipe and use it to navigate the pipe to record footage. Upon replay, we scan the footage and use it as a magnifying glass to interpret and figure out the exact nature of the problem.
Drain Snaking
A drain snake is a slender, flexible drill or auger used to dislodge clogs in drains. These drain snakes are often the first thing homeowners try for clogged and slow drains, using basic versions that can be purchased from any local hardware store. However, more rigid blockages will require professional-grade equipment. Drain snakes come in many varieties, with two popular versions being a motorized auger that, unlike a hand crank, has a corkscrew attachment at the end and drills directly through larger and tougher clogs.
Hydro Jetting
One of our innovative methods for a Victoria drain cleaning service is hydro jetting. This drain tactic utilizes high-pressure water jets to blast away debris, clogs, and build-up from the drain pipes. This is a highly efficient pipe cleaning method as it’s non-invasive and effectively cuts through the clog instead of pulling up pieces of the blockage like a toilet auger. Instead of completely removing the blockage, an auger only pulls up pieces and leaves residue substances behind to forge a new clog in its place, making you call the plumber yet again.
Hydro jetting scrubs the inside of your pipes clean, so there’s no residue left behind to cling onto and form yet another clog that makes an unwelcome return. The best aspect of this technique is that you don’t need to worry about the physical repair and replacement of sewer lines often, as a regular hydro jet session preserves and expands the lifespan of the pipe system. Plus, hydro jetting is more sanitary as it pushes the clog in and throughout the house pipes and out into the municipal sewage system rather than it being pulled up via plunging and augering back into your house, leaving a hot mess for you to deal with.
