As a homeowner, you likely dread sewer line repair or replacement. After all, the traditional method of repairing or replacing parts of your sewer line involves digging large trenches in your beautiful yard. It can be panic inducing to contemplate.
But don't panic! At Mr. Rooter Plumbing, we specialise in trenchless repair and replacement. As the name suggests, such a method doesn't require excavation that would destroy your home's landscaping. Rather, we only dig two small holes at the beginning and end of the damaged section of your sewer line to manage this type of drain repair in Vancouver.
Trenchless methods, including pipe relining and hydraulic bursting, are non-invasive, and an excellent way to get your sewer line repaired or replaced without the disruption of digging a massive trench. With these methods, you can rest easy knowing that you won't have to deal with problems like sewer backups or other drain-related problems.
The two different methods of trenchless drain repair in Vancouver are:
Pipe Relining
By performing a video plumbing inspection, our experts will be able to pinpoint the specific area of your drain line that's causing your problems. This is done without causing any damage to your property. Pipe relining is quick and the least invasive method to replace part of a damaged sewer line.
The first step is digging a hole at the entrance of the affected pipe. Once we've got access to the damage pipe, a flexible liner that's soaked in epoxy along with an inflatable tube is inserted. The tube, once inflated, will ensure that the liner is flush to the sides of the pipe. Once the epoxy has cured, the tube is removed, and you can use your plumbing systems once more without worrying about a sewer backup.
Pipe relining takes a matter of hours and won't displace you from your home or cause major disruptions to your daily routine.
Hydraulic Bursting
Hydraulic bursting, or pipe bursting, is another form of trenchless drain repair, but it's a little more complex and involved. Two holes are dug at the start and end of the affected drain pipes. Then, specialised hydraulic equipment breaks apart the old pipe and pulls it through the end hole. Once that's done, a new pipe is inserted in its place.
For extensive damage, this method is ideal as it replaces the damaged section of pipe completely. And, similar to pipe relining, hydraulic bursting can be completed within a day.
While the majority of drain repair conducted in British Columbia is trenchless, there are cases where trenches are unavoidable. In cases where your drain pipes have completely collapsed or there's tree rot intrusions, excavation might be required to solve the problem. Whichever course of action is ultimately necessary, you can trust our skilled team to complete it quickly without compromising on the quality.
